Prof Paul Townsend

Professor Paul Townsend is an internationally renowned scientist and academic leader in the field of cell science, drug discovery and biomarker identification to advance precision medicine. He has held key leadership roles including as Associate Dean for Business Engagement at the University of Manchester; Research Professor in the Manchester Cancer Research Centre aligned with the CRUK Manchester Institute; Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Surrey, and Executive Lead for International Research and Partnerships at the University of Surrey. He currently holds the position of Deputy Principal Research and Innovation at the University of Stirling where he has oversight of strategic initiatives, including guiding the university’s R&I portfolio to align with regional, national, and international priorities.
